Patrones de atención de emergencia por trastornos depresivos y de ansiedad según edad y sexo

Resumen

Objetivo: Describir la frecuencia y estimar la asociación del sexo y la edad con las atenciones de emergencia por trastornos
depresivos y de ansiedad en la población peruana.
Métodos: Estudio observacional, retrospectivo y transversal basado en registros del Ministerio de Salud del Perú entre enero de
2021 y noviembre de 2022. Se identificaron 3 423 atenciones por trastornos depresivos y 8 792 por trastornos de ansiedad. Las
asociaciones con sexo y edad se evaluaron mediante chi-cuadrado de Pearson y odds ratio (OR) con intervalos de confianza del
95%.
Resultados: Las mujeres representaron el 74,2% de las atenciones por depresión y el 65,8% de las atenciones por ansiedad.
Frente a los hombres, presentaron OR=2,14 para depresión y OR=1,44 para ansiedad. Los menores de 18 años mostraron
OR=3,15 para atenciones por depresión, mientras que los adultos mostraron OR=2,06 para atenciones por ansiedad.
Conclusiones: En los registros de emergencia analizados se observaron diferencias por sexo y edad en la distribución de las
atenciones por depresión y ansiedad. Estos resultados describen asociaciones entre características demográficas y diagnósticos
registrados en emergencia y no deben interpretarse como efectos causales.
